Lindt Lindor Truffles BallsLindor is a (swiss) chocolate truffle made by Lindt & Sprüngli and first introduced in 1955 in Switzerland . They consist of a solid outer chocolate shell which is filled with a smooth filling of various flavors. The filling melts at a lower temperature than the outer shell, and is meant to be liquid at or above room temperature . Lindor Chocolates are typically packaged in groups of three in a uniquely shaped box with a parallelogram cross section. In the United States they are often sold individually and also come in a variety of packaging. Lindor chocolates come in a spherical shape (approximately 3 cm diameter) and in several flavours, Milk chocolate , Dark chocolate , White chocolate , Mint , Hazelnut , Amaretto (now discontinued in retail stores), Orange , Raspberry , Extra Dark, Stracciatella (Swiss market), Holiday ( Milk chocolate with a White chocolate center), Coffee (Italian market) and Peanut Butter . The chocolates were introduced in their current unique wrapper in 1978. Each flavor has a different colored wrapper. "Lindor" also comes in a chocolate bar form. Most of the US Lindor truffles are manufactured in Stratham, New Hampshire . In Switzerland the chocolates are referred to as "Lindor Kugeln" or "Lindor balls". |
