Guylian's no added sugar chocolate bars are made with Maltitol, a healthy alternative to sugar. Maltitol is a 100% natural product derived exclusively
from natural cereals. Maltitol has a pleasant sweet taste, remarkably similar to sucrose. Blind tests have proven that consumers
do not notice a difference
in taste, contrary to other reduced calorie sweeteners.
Maltitol is a member of the family known as polyols who are often used to replace sugars
in the manufacture of sugar-free foods.
The advantages of polyols are:
They are useful for people with diabetes because they do not raise blood glucose or insulin levels.
They do not contribute to the formation of dental caries.
They are especially useful in the manufacture of sucrose-free chocolate. |
